5G Network and new smarter Google Voice search among them
Information technology is a rapidly growing part of today’s society. Before the rise of modern day technology, life was difficult and everyday activities took too much of our time and energy. To explain all these more deeply we have collected Top 5 emerging technologies of 2019 for you.
Nowadays huge opportunities are provided by technologies which play an important role in our life. The access to education, medicine, industry, transportation etc. has been simplified due to modern day technology.
Here are the top 5 emerging technologies in 2019, that we would like to introduce:
5G is the fifth generation of mobile network technology. It’s a new kind of network: a platform for innovations that will enhance today’s mobile services. It offers faster speeds and more reliable connections on smartphones and other devices than ever before. 5G network is one of top 5 emerging technologies in 2019.
5G speeds depend on locations, countries and devices, but on the whole the average internet speed we can expect is supposed to be greater than what we have on 4G. 5G networks are already starting to appear and are expected to launch across the world by 2020.
In 2020, worldwide 5G wireless network infrastructure revenue will reach $4.2 billion, an 89% increase from 2019 revenue of $2.2 billion, according to Gartner.
ECG: Apple Watch Series 5
One of the most surprising announcements at Apple’s annual hardware event wasn’t a new iPhone, or even the new, thinner, next-generation Apple Watch. It was a feature on the Apple Watch.
Apple Watch Series 5 can generate an ECG similar to a single-lead electrocardiogram. It monitors your heart rate and lets you know if something is wrong. It helps you keep track of your menstrual cycle and taps you if noise level rises to a point that could damage your hearing. Isn’t it worth being considered as one of top 5 emerging technologies in 2019?
Google Voice Search
Google search will now give feedback on pronunciation. It’s launching a new feature that will let users check their pronunciation of unfamiliar words with the help of machine learning.
When the users speak into their microphone, Google will use AI to analyze how they pronounce the word. They’ll then receive feedback on how each word matches Google’s pronunciation. For the present this feature is available only for American English words, though Google promises Spanish pronunciations are coming.
Google is also improving its word translations and definitions adding visual prompts. If you’re trying to translate “casa” from Spanish to English, for example, you’ll also see pictures of house together with the translated word.
According to Google these picture translations will work initially in English and for the nouns. Let’s hope that it will expand the coverage in the future.
IT companies are developing increasingly powerful quantum processors. Last year Intel introduced a 49-qubit chip followed by Google introducing a 72-qubit chip.
Some qubit-based devices can already be accessed through cloud services, such as Alibaba Cloud and IBM Q. The quantum machines of these IT giants help research organizations and universities create complex models that are difficult for classic computers to simulate, for example, the behavior of human immune systems.
At the same time, 2019 may be the year of “personal” quantum machines. In early January, IBM launched Q System One at CES 2019, a prototype commercial quantum computer for business. This is a machine with 20 qubits, which, unlike other quantum computers, can work outside the laboratory.
It is also likely that in 2019 “quantum superiority” will finally be achieved. This is when machines with qubits begin to solve a number of computational problems faster than classical computers. To prove the quantum superiority hypothesis, Google plans to host a performance competition with NASA’s supercomputer earlier this year. The results of the experiment will be known in the summer.
Samsung Galaxy Fold
Over the past three years, smartphone sales have slowed down: with devices with powerful processors, wide displays and large amount of memory, many companies lose their motivation to update them. As a result, companies become more creative in search of design.
The Galaxy Fold was supposed to appear in the first half of 2019, however Samsung had to delay its launch, reinforcing the points where it broke in the hands of early reviewers. Finally, it was released in September, 2019 in South Korea.
The Galaxy Fold contains two displays; its front cover contains a small, 4.6-inch display in the center designed for one-handed use, and the device can fold open to expose a 7.3-inch display.
Sad news is that it’s twice the price of today’s best smartphones, and on top of that it has a troubled track record with regard to durability, which can be a deal-breaker for many potential buyers.
Technologies are constantly in the center of attention for all industries. We expect 2020 to become another year of new use opportunities and possibilities.
It is impossible to describe all the existing trends in IT. We just compiled a list of the most striking trends that are likely to change our lives in the very near future. Feel free to express your ideas in the comment section below.
